A multiple personality disorder is characterized as shifts in behavior that a person exhibits without the capability of the other personalities forming memories that another personality might have. With bigenderism, I know that I have two genders, but I can also form memories that both sides will share because I know that I am one person. People also incorrectly assume that I am schizophrenic. This assumption is also quite far off of the margin. To be schizophrenic, you need to have the following symptoms.
- Hallucinations
- paranoia
- delusions
- unorganized speech and thinking
- unusual movements, or lack thereof
I suffer from none of these symptoms, therefore I am just like anybody else. The only difference is that I have two genders. Whenever I post something new on here I will put the name of the gender that I am at the time, at the top of the page, to help everyone know which gender is typing. You may also be able to tell which is which by the topic of the post itself. Right now I am, as I said, Dakoda Benjamin Leach, I named my female side by myself and the only reason that I gave it a name is the help people to use the proper gender pronouns.
It isn't for my own personal comfort, I would still be happy even if my female side didn't have a name, but I gave it one anyway. Besides, I really like the name Addison Rayanne Leach.
